Pushbutton provides ‘red button’ voting for I’m A Celebrity
ITV’s popular reality TV show ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ is back for a fourth series starting on Sunday, 21st of November, and this year the show is supported by a fully featured interactive ‘red button’ application from Pushbutton.

By pressing the red button on their remote controls, satellite viewers will be able to vote for the celebrity they wish to stay in the camp and which celebrity must endure the next bushtucker trial, read celebrity profiles, bet on who they think will become king or queen of the jungle, try to win the ‘Jungle Jackpot’ prize, or play the dedicated ‘I’m A Celebrity.. Get Me Out of Here!’ TV game.

Pushbutton Managing Director, Paula Byrne, said “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! is a great show for ‘red button’ enhancement. Our voting application enables the viewers to determine the outcome by voting for who they want to stay in camp. We are delighted to be associated with such a popular show.”

“I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!” is sponsored by First Choice Holidays. The holiday company have an interactive promotional area also designed and built by pushbutton, which can be accessed from an advertisement on the show interactive. The First Choice promotional area offers viewers the opportunity to win a family holiday and ‘get you and your family out of here in 2005′.

This latest tender win for Pushbutton follows closely on the heels of several ITV contract wins earlier in the year to handle interactive development in prime time shows, ‘The X Factor’, ‘Hell’s Kitchen’, and ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’. Pushbutton was also commissioned to design and build the recently relaunched ITVi 24:7 menu.

Release date: September 15, 2004

Pushbutton will build a ‘red button’ interactive application to support ITV’s new talent show The X-Factor, staring celebrity judges Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, and Sharon Osbourne.

The X Factor auditions will be conducted all over the country to build a short list of 120 acts divided into three categories – ‘16-25 Solo’, ‘25+ Solo’ and Groups. Each judge will then be given one category to mentor, with viewers allowed to vote via the ‘red button’ for their favourite acts. One act from each category will compete in the final to find a winner of The X Factor – again decided by viewer votes.

Pushbutton’s interactive area for the show handles all voting, features a news and gossip from section, a competition to win a taste of Simon Cowell’s lifestyle and two betting opportunities – spin The X Factor reels, and bet on who you think will win the show.

In addition to building the main interactive application for the show, pushbutton also built a promotional interactive for the show’s main sponsor, Nokia. The Nokia area is accessed by pressing the yellow button and features information about Nokia’s latest handsets, several chances to win Nokia phones, plus news and deals from Club Nokia.

Pushbutton managing director, Paula Byrne, said “This is the biggest project we have ever been involved in and the most prestigious. It is a tribute to pushbutton’s interactive design and build capability that we have been trusted by a global brand like Nokia, and by the hottest show in ITV’s autumn schedule, The X Factor.”
